Black Lives ALWAYS Matter
We in the black community have a responsibility to make sure our stories, our struggles & our voices are heard. With all the racial and civil unrest happening in our country, the world has been awakened to the struggles that we as black people have never been able to escape. The senseless murder of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery, may be a shock to many but it is all too familiar for black people. We have sadly become numb to this. Racism affects everything we do as black people. It haunts us, however, we still are proud of who we are black people. We never fold! We always fight and find ways to prevail through the hardships.
Now is the time to educate yourself. If you had the privilege of not being directly affected by the issues that black people face every day in this country; now is the time to acknowledge your privilege and use it for good. Black people cannot fight this fight alone. We need non-black allies. There is so much power in using your voices for change, share resources, have those uncomfortable conversations with your family & friends. Protesting is important and it works! If you can’t protest, donate your money to help bail out protestors who have put their freedom and lives at risk to fight for justice for those who can no longer fight for themselves. Also, donate what you can to foundations that always work tirelessly and endlessly to get justice for black people in this country. Sign petitions! It’s free (you can donate money if you chose) and it takes seconds to sign! I will link all resources down below. This movement isn’t a trend. It won’t fade away, we can’t stop fighting. The time for change is long overdue.
